Caribbean Cement Company Limited, the only manufacturer of portland cement in Jamaica, produces consistently high quality cement using all indigenous materials.

Caribbean Cement Company Limited (Carib Cement), located in Rockfort, Kingston, has been producing a consistently high quality of portland cement using one hundred percent Jamaican raw materials since 1952. The raw materials used in the manufacturing process are all mined within ten miles of the plant. Carib Cement has as a subsidiary company Jamaica Gypsum and Quarries Limited (JGQ), which supplies the company with the gypsum used in the manufacture of its cement. The company exports its surplus gypsum and boasts its own ports for the shipment abroad of both its cement and gypsum.

The plant is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Mountain Range. In 2005, the plant produced 542,113 tonnes of clinker and 844,840 tonnes of cement, and is in the process of increasing capacity to meet the growing demands of the local and export markets.

It is a major contributor to the Jamaican economy and employs some 250 persons.

Over 90% of structures present in Jamaica today were built using Carib Cement as it is commonly known.
