The award for "Excellence in Customer Focus in the Manufacturing Sector" was won by Carib Cement at the Jamaica National Quality Awards held on October 10, 2011 in Kingston.
This is the first time that Carib Cement has won a National Quality Award (NQA). The NQA came into effect in 2003. Carib Cement's award is testimony to the Company's focus on continuous improvement in its Quality Management System.
The NQA comprises the following five sections in both the manufacturing and service sectors : Business Results; Human Resource Focus; Process Management; Organizational Focus and Customer Focus.
