Parris A. Lyew-Ayee holds a B.Sc. Honours Degree in Special Geology from The University of the West Indies, and a Master of Engineering Degree in Mineral Engineering Management from Pennsylvania State University.
He is the Executive Director of the Jamaica Bauxite Institute. In addition to being the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Caribbean Cement, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of Jamaica Bauxite Institute, Noranda Jamaica Bauxite Mining Partners, and Jamaica National Building Society (including its subsidiary organizations Jamaica National Building Society Foundation and Jamaica National Small Business Loans Limited, where he serves as the Chairman). At the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies, he serves on the Mona Campus Council, the Strategy and Policy Committee, the Finance and General Purposes Committee, the Audit Committee, the Grounds and Buildings Committee and the Board of Directors of the Mona GeoInformatics Institute.
Mr. Lyew-Ayee’s contribution to Jamaica’s bauxite industry has been acknowledged by the Government of Jamaica, which conferred on him the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer (OD) in 1988 and the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander (CD) in 2007.
